How to play Wordle
Guess the hidden five-letter word in six tries. After each guess, tiles turn green (right letter, right spot), yellow (in the word, wrong spot) or gray (not in the word). Use what you learn on every guess: a good second guess often tests five fresh letters.
New puzzle: A new puzzle unlocks at midnight in your local time.
Access: Wordle is free to play.
Tips
- Open with a word that uses common letters such as E, A, R, T, S and L.
- Remember letters can repeat: a word like "LLAMA" is fair game.
- Hard mode (every hint must be reused) makes you think harder but can trap you in a run of near-misses like _IGHT.
